As opposed to it being a result of people's imaginations, creating gods in their own minds. After all, miraculous events a long time ago of divine origin could have "kicked off" sort a speak, religiosity. What do you think?
Atheists, what if the reason there are so many religious people is because of divine manifestations years ago?
